Moving overseas: trusted help from door to door
Moving to a new home can be incredibly exciting but with all that is required, stressful too. The potential for stress reaches a whole new level when you are MOVING OVERSEAS.
Not only are you heading off into the unknown, but you have the added challenge of packing up all your worldly possessions for safe transportation. The hunt then begins for an affordable, experienced removal and shipping option, the best way to transport everything, and how to deal with complex regulations and paperwork that comes with clearing your household effects in a new country.
With Rocket Freight, you can kiss your worries goodbye as well as your old address.
We will help you through each step of the process to ensure everything goes just as it should. As you move from Australia or NZ, the only tears we want you crying are goodbye ones with your family and friends and happy ones when you arrive at your new home!

Here are a few things to consider with your impending move…
Air freight or sea freight?
When moving from NZ to Australia or elsewhere, if you have a considerable number of belongings to ship, sea freight is likely to be the best option and the most economical. Keep in mind that sea freight traditionally has a longer transit time depending on your destination.
If you only have a small amount to send or need your items urgently then air freight may be a good alternative to sea freight. Air freight is a more expensive option to sea freight but may suit your needs better.
Full container or Groupage/Shared container?
If your personal belongings don’t fill up an entire container, we can look at a shared container option, this is an efficient and cost-effective option for part households. Alternatively, you can have a container for yourself. There are advantages and disadvantages to both options, which we can clarify for you, but the transit times would be the main difference. Contact our movers to Australia for clarifications.
What should I bring?
The most important aspect when moving overseas is deciding what to bring. We can look at giving you a price with and without optional items so you can see what is best for you and your budget.
Please keep in mind that some items are difficult to ship or are prohibited in certain destinations. If you are planning on bringing weapons or dangerous goods, then you may need a permit. We are happy to go over these regulations with you based on your destination country. Note: moving to Australia and moving to New Zealand are governed by different regulations.
Getting an accurate quote
